Boston Mayor Tom Menino’s disgraceful comments regarding illegal aliens created quite a stir yesterday, with our posts on it receiving nearly 3,000 comments in just a few hours on Facebook. To recap, Menino said that car theft by illegals wasn’t serious enough to warrant deportation, and thus he would try to yank Boston from the outstanding and effective ‘Secure Communities‘ program whereby fingerprints of arrested illegals are sent to ICE, increasing their chances of being deported.
Let’s first review what Menino said:
Fox 25 Boston then put up a poll, asking if readers agreed with the Mayor’s comments. Incredibly, they showed a clear majority SUPPORTED Menino. We couldn’t believe it ourselves, but then got word that La Raza activists were urging their members to vote “YES” in support of Menino, and we swung into action, and quickly OWNED these rabble rousers in just a few hours. Nice work everyone!
Most comments on the website ran against Menino. Today, the Mayor apologized for his comments by bizarrely saying he didn’t have the luxury of a teleprompter on morning television:
Ok, so he sort of apologized. But was it for the right statements? Frankly what really disturbed us most was not the car theft a “minor” crime stuff at all. Let’s break down some of the most alarming statements uttered by Mayor Menino, which got far less attention and which truly mark a historic low-point for an American politician at any level regarding illegal immigration.
Sending people back to their homeland…people who (unintelligible) stolen cars, simple crimes, their fingerprints were sent down to Washington, and being deported also….I couldn’t take that.
So according to the Mayor of Boston, an illegal alien – who is already breaking the law by their very presence in the U.S., should be also permitted to commit felony theft of a vehicle – typically the 2nd most valuable asset for most Americans – with impunity, and be permitted to remain in his city, despite their proven penchant for criminal activity.
But it gets worse:
What I found out also is their was “tension” building between the immigrant community and the Boston Police and other law-enforcement officials…we should never have that tension between the police dept and the community…
So here the Mayor of a city is less concerned with removing criminal from his city than with so-called “tension” between large groups of law-breakers and those whose job it is to ENFORCE the law.
But again, it gets worse. FAR worse, and very disturbing…
I can’t take this legislation where if a guy steals a car, it’s a minor crime, and have him deported. And the community says, yeah if its a homicide, a manslaughter, we don’t want them in our community…you can send them back.”
Stunning. For the first time we can recall, a Mayor of a major American city defers to a “community” of illegal aliens to determine which crimes are “serious” enough, and which criminals they deem worthy of deportation. It was bad enough when ICE Director John Morton issued his infamous memo giving agents and judges wider discretion in allowing greater numbers of illegals to avoid deportation. But it is far more offensive for an elected official to defer to ILLEGALS THEMSELVES for such discretion.
But Menino saves his most offensive comment for last:
What was happening with the Federal government, they were deporting these individuals and that was unfair. But the more important thing was the distrust that was developing between the Boston police and the immigrant community, and we know we are a minority-majority city and we have to respect that, and…you know, I’m Mayor of all the people not just some of them.
Words fail me. Naked race politics at its very worst. used to justify willful defiance of Federal and state laws. These are the utterances of a deranged individual who has no place in any public office. Menino is a disgrace. If he had any honor whatsoever he would resign for these un-American assertions. Menino must be defeated and never again serve in any elected capacity. Stand With Arizona commits to use our 340,000 members to do everything we can to ensure Menino’s swift retirement.

Mr. Menino. You are just one more disgrace to public office…and America has had more than enough of people like you holding ANY public office. We hope to see you…AND all those like you hitting the road. If we have our way…it will be WITHOUT a future in ANY political office…without an extra large pension…and without any honor. In fact sir, you would most likely be better off retiring TO mexico…and working with these “guys’ you don’t want to see deported there…after they are.

It isn’t ” a guy” stealing a car! It’s an illegal alien who does NOT belong free in our coutry…commiting another crime on top of that one. By their very nature…they ARE career criminals. WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT GET?

Just an idea, but how about stripping any and all assets of politicians that abuse their office for personal gain, or to subvert our laws, and deport THEM! as well as ALL the illegals. Maybe to Uganda, Nigeria or Sudan. Criminal action is treated very differently there, maybe it would stem the tide of illegals and the trend of corruption in our political arena at the same time….just thinking out loud.
The last time I checked, theft of ANYTHING which (in this case) has a blue book value over a certain dollar amount becomes a felony by default. Why this liberal vinegar sac fails to EVENLY apply the laws across the board escapes logic… and COMMON SENSE doesn’t need a teleprompter.
What about the econmical impact that car theft has , not only on the citizen it was perpatrated on. But the increase it has on everone! Not to mention car jackings, where people are beaten , murdered, threatened at knife and gun point. But these ( guy,s ) ( illegal crime wave ) dont deserve to be punished. Even though , there first act in this country has been a crime and every one since has also been. I live in Boston….not only Menino, but all these politicians who don’t get what “illegal” means…I really don’t get it….but then again, the ones who “work” pay into federal, state, social security…none of which they can claim….so where does the money go? that’s right, in Uncle Sam’s pocket…..but look on the bright side, just imagine how large the deficit would be if it weren’t for all these illegals…oh yeah, that’s right…we wouldn’t have to pay for their housing, medical, food stamps, welfare, wic, etc….hey, the federal budget might even balance for once!
