Stand With Arizona
The Obama Administration today announced a virtual amnesty-by-decree for hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens, whose deportations will be “indefinitely delayed”. In addition, Obama finally announced a jobs program – but for ILLEGAL ALIENS, not citizens – as those 300,000 illegals will also become eligible for “work permits“.
This action represents an administrative end-run around Congress, which twice rejected the ‘DREAM Act’ in 2010. As disgraceful as is this usurpation of Congressional authority, this announcement is even worse than is being reported.
Our analysis reveals that – despite media focus of this action limited to so-called “Dreamer” illegal students, this new policy, coupled with the criteria established by the June 2011 “Morton Memos” which set up a joint “DHS and DOJ working group” could expand this “indefinite delay” of deportation to potentially MILLIONS of illegals – creating a new, massive amnesty entirely by fiat, bypassing Congress.

The Obama administration said Thursday it will indefinitely delay deporting many illegal immigrants who don’t have criminal records and will offer them a chance to apply for a work permit. The government will focus on sending back convicted criminals and those who might be a national security or public safety threat.
The policy change will mean a case-by-case review of approximately 300,000 illegal immigrants facing possible deportation in federal immigration courts, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.
This is clearly what Sen. Dick Durbin was hinting at with his recent statement that there would be “good news” coming soon regarding deportations of “undocumented students”.
This announcement puts into writing what the Administration had already begun to put into practice, after the infamous “ICE Memos” issued by ICE head John Morton in June, in which Morton spells out which illegals would now receive “particular care and consideration” — e.g., amnesty – essentially “Dreamers”, but potentially millions more.
Under the new process, a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) “working group” will develop specific criteria to identify “low-priority removal cases” that should be considered for prosecutorial discretion. These criteria will be based on “positive factors” from the Morton Memo (PDF), which include…
- individuals present in the U.S. since childhood (like ‘DREAM Act’ students)
- minors
- the elderly
- pregnant and nursing women
- victims of serious crimes
- veterans and members of the armed services
- and individuals with serious disabilities or health problems
The breadth of the above list makes it less a matter of which illegal aliens are excluded than which ones are NOT. Minors, elderly, pregnant and nursing (could cover more than half of all childbearing-age illegal alien women!), victims of “serious” crimes (what defines “serious”?), disabilities/health problems(does diabetes count? depression?).
The Morton Guidelines above, coupled with today’s announcement suspending deportations equals a potential amnesty for MILLIONS of illegal aliens – all without ANY Congressional action or authorization.
This disgraceful end-run of the rule of law and constitutional principles must NOT stand!

I dont see it helping because all the illegals the obama administration is giving work permits to. They will take all the jobs he is supposedly creating and the citizens who are unemployed will remain so because there will be no jobs.

These people are already working at some places giving them workpermit will help increase the tax money for government because currently they are getting cash money. Another better way i think is since all these 11 million illegal are here and most of them are working. let them pay $5000 per person to fix their documents. it will give $55,000,000,000 to the government to clear debt. Addition to that, for example 9 million start paying taxes, they will start paying taxes atleast of $125 per month that will give $1,125,000,000 extra to government to boost the economy. Remind you, they are already working here and not taking jobs from US citizens, citizens here don’t like to work in the heat when the sun is blowing 110 degrees outside.
For those of you think taxing illegals will solve the debt crisis your really not paying attention. Pull you head out of the sand and review the last two administrations of out of control spending! The more money that Washington gets their hands on, the more they spend.. More taxes will not cure our debt problem as would supplyig a junkie with more heroin, paid for by illegal means. WA is nothing more than a bunch of money junkies. That is really what sums up this line of thinking. WA is long overdue for an intervention to stop their spending addiction. They must first admit they have a problem and I wouldn’t hold my breath to hear those words. The illegals are just a means to obtain more money. If WA would stop their out of control spending, there probably wouldn’t be an illegal immigration issue. There is not enough illegals in 3 galaxies to satisfy WA addiction to money. And speaking of jobs that Americans won’t do, the ones in DC should be at the top of that list!

Considering you have a child with your illegal husband, that child is an automatic citizen based on the fact that your a U.S. citizen if the child was born on American soil. If not then all you need to do is file for a certificate of child born abroad. Maybe if you did some research you would know this. Before you start with running your mouth, I know what I’m talking about since I married someone from another country. The only difference is that I filled the proper paperwork’s and she came here legally and after 15 years of being a LEGAL immigrant she decided to get and became a U.S. citizen.

Not all us ‘illegal aliens’ are ‘criminals’. My parents were selfish when they brought me here as a baby and didn’t do anything to help me.

People that say there is no negative side to illegal immigration, obviously have never had to live, or spend any amount of time in a sanctuary city. When you have to watch as the place you call home, and your family has called home for years, falls into a state of crime-ridden decline because of lowered wages and polar cultural differences…..you have a different view of the situation. There are so many examples of negatives that can be mentioned, but I am only going to mention one because it seems like the last bastion of preserved community that we have….but may not have for long. There is a natural spring where people have been gathering the best natural drinking water for years and years. The citizens have always done their best to keep the area clean and untainted so that the water might continue to be enjoyed for years to come. In recent days, to the utter dismay of the citizens…..certain peoples have been seen, not only walking in the spring and letting their animals frolick in it…..but also washing their clothes in the spring. Washing their fucking clothes in the spring and contaminating the water with chemicals!!!!!!! It is not a laundromat!!! Must they take everything and ruin it!?!?!? We have over a million illegal immigrants. If we pass some kind of law for at least half of them (the once that have been here and responsible for over 10 years at least) I think America would benefit. Its too many people not paying taxes, taking our money away and sending them to their home towns, etc. If they have some kind of rights to live in america, they’d buy cars, houses, pay taxes, airplane tickets, etc, etc, etc. This way they even go to hospitals to emergency rooms using someone elses name. I am a US citizen by birth. My husband is here “illegally” from Mexico working 2 JOBS. He literally works 80 hours a week. He is applying for an ITIN so that he can pay his taxes. He asks for NO HANDOUTS! He pulls his weight and then some. We have a 5 month old son. He is an EXCELLENT father. I can’t tell you how many “Americans” I see on the side of the road with signs asking for hand-outs. The reason they are on the side of the road asking for hand-outs is because they DON’T WANT TO WORK! Their unemployment payments have stopped and now they want to sell water or soda on the side of the road instead of getting a real job. No, Mc Donald’s and Walmart aren’t the most high-paying, prestigious jobs, but its a paycheck. My husband would take just about any job you give him and work it damn hard! Twice as hard as alot of the lazy Americans we see so much. I see Mexicans waiting for jobs in the parking lots of Home Depots at like 5am everyday. I never see “Out of Work Americans” out there waiting to work. I am not downing “Americans”. But when we talk about Mexicans taking jobs from us… we need to understand what jobs Americans are throwing away or are just too lazy or proud to work…. Yes, there are many, many Mexicans here illegally, but they are only here to make a better life for their families who don’t have food, shelter or even healthcare. What the feds don’t take the f&#k1ng state of Connecticut feels is theirs so that the illegals can go to college too. When I was a kid I did all of those lousy jobs that BO says that illegals do. I bailed hay during the summer. Worked in the kitchen of a pizza joint. Bagged groceries and stocked shelves. Dug ditches and hualed lumber for a house builder. I caddied at the golf course and worked for a janitorial service. I did all these jobs and never complained that I shouldn’t be doing that kind of work as an American. I did those jobs as a kid until I learned a trade to make a career out of. Now my kid is 16 and wants a car. One problem. All of those jobs that Americans supposedly don’t want are taken by illegals and my kid can’t get a job. So Mister president ,don’t blow smoke up my Arse and tell me that illegals are good for this country because I can’t lie to my family and tell that. There is no facility in the U.S. Constitution to recall a President. He can onl be impeached, by a simple majority of the U.S. House, followed by a Senate trial, presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, at which 2/3 of the Senate must vote to convict, and thus remove him from office.

I got a call today from a close family member who says that Obama has granted blanket amnesty to any non-citizen for all crimes. I myself am a US citizen via both jus sanguinis and jus soli (rights of blood and soil). I am a descendent of immigrants who came here legally. My fiancee is a legal immigrant who recently gained her citizenship.
To those of you who would say I have no idea what the immigration process is, let me assure you I’ve held her hand through the whole thing as her sponsor as well as paying all of the applicable fees and filing the mountain of paperwork it takes to do things legally.
Maybe it would have been simpler to simply marry her and then bring her in on a K-3 which is also legal, but I’d rather marry because I wish to, not because I must and we also were not engaged at the time. I’m aware of the wait time while they processed the application, which was probably helped quite a bit by the fact that she had a sponsor, that took almost 6 months. Last month, I’m happy to say, she finished the entire naturalization process and is now a US citizen.
The more of this crap that I read, the more I understand her complete and utter hatred of illegal immigrants. Yes, I said ILLEGAL ALIENS, I don’t buy that “undocumented worker” crap. That’s a bunch of bureaucratic double-speak designed to confuse the uneducated. We did things legally at personal expense and it took almost 6 years and several thousand dollars in total. In my opinion, time and money well spent. These illegal aliens invade our sovereignty (a crime) and wait for an amnesty, all while falsifying documents (a crime) and stealing identities from people who are legal to work (a crime). These entitled criminals expect us to pay for their children’s education, their health care and, their food which bankrupt our state treasuries and heath care providers. All while driving down our wages or just plain undercutting what we can legally accept as pay by accepting cash payment under the table.
As if this isn’t enough, they now expect amnesty from these crimes against my nation? Don’t even start with that “we only do the stuff you won’t do anyhow” crap with me either. I know quite a few people who now work 2 jobs at minimum wage to make ends meet. I myself DO work out in the heat all summer and out in the cold all winter, so keep that tough guy hard worker crap to yourself too. Believe it or not, most of the legal residents of this country work for a living doing whatever they need to. Maybe that’s why we can afford to eat up here, maybe that’s why we have the ability to see a doctor when we’re sick or injured, and maybe that’s why we can afford to provide some help to our fellow Americans when they need a hand up.
To this I say NO. NO amnesty, NO DREAM, NO path to citizenship, NO work permits, NO more free handouts. If you want your piece of the American Dream you’re more than welcome to it, but you have to do it legally, and like everyone else you have to start at the back of the line. They’ll be happy to talk to you at the US embassy in your home country.
I’m sick to death of it. Americans are a generous people, in this we are generous to a fault. This sort of generosity we can no longer afford.
Here is what I propose our Congress should do to thank Mr. Obama for his little end-run around them.
1. Remove all provisions for jus soli, or birthright citizenship, from the 14th amendment of our constitution. This would bring us back into line with the rest of the world where citizenship is hereditary, not determined by birth location. This would also reduce the need to pay welfare for any future anchor babies, thereby reducing incentive to stay.
2. Have any and all persons who provide civil services also check the immigration status of the person receiving the service, or in the case of a minor their parent or guardian. This would include food stamps, WIC, welfare, health care providers, social workers, etc. When a person of illegal status is found, they should be detained and then deported. Parents may also elect to take their citizen children with them when they are deported, or they can leave them in the care of the people who are already paying for them anyhow. Anybody who turns themselves in should be treated with the utmost respect during their repatriation.
3. Any tax refunds from a person who is illegally here should be seized to help pay for the civil services they receive.
4. Give the penalties for hiring illegal aliens some real teeth. Something progressive like $1000 fine on first offense, $5000 on second offense, $10000 on third offense, jail time thereafter should work nicely.
5. As part of the deportation process, collect biometric information such as fingerprints, facial recognition scans and retinal scans for each individual and enter them into a database. Let them have the first one free, but illegal entry after being deported should result in an inability to ever become a citizen or receive any sort of visa or work permit.
I think that pretty much covers everything, short and to the point. Let him veto it, you can always overrule him.
Finally, as a rebuttal to Mr. Obama, I’m going to take you at your word. Did you say that you only want to deport the criminals? Each and every single one of the illegal aliens you’re looking at granting a back-door amnesty has violated our laws by violating the national sovereignty of the United States of America. Therefore, they are criminals and should be deported, no need to waste the judge’s time and our money.
In this day and age of such finacial unrest and political indecision, this country needs new leadership. I did not vote for Mr. Brobama and I had hopes that he would be able to pull the country together. But he appears to be just more of the same political doubletalk fork-tounged reterect that has been coming out of Washington for many moons. I stand with Arizona and will vote for ROn Paul.

I see because of your situation that you are apologetic and compassionate for the cause of illegals entering this country. Thus, it suits you to defend your lifestyle as it fits the arguement. please look on the situation from the neutral point of view avoiding personal matters. State is an institution aiming to serve its citizen in the first line.
Just small example: Please note so far I know only US gives Medicaid to illegal immigrants, it is impossible in Europe. Giving benefits to illegal immigrants means deprive resources from the legal citizen, it is unfair also to ask tax payers to bear cost of medical bills for illegal immigrants. Medicaid is just an example, their are a lot of other social support programs.
Number 2: illegal labor force causes loss of tax income to the state, which have to be compromised by increase of taxes to the lawful citizen.
And number three: It is true, that US by its nature is an immigration country, not like European country where one nation is dominant, example Germany. But current situation worldwide is that many countries with constant growth of population and poverty (i.e. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Mexico, Guatemala, majority of African countries) do not care about their citizens’ well-being. Can US be a solution to all poor in the world? Along India (India is just an example,) has reached one billion population, where 800 million wants to come to work and live in US. Can US accommodate all of them? Even being a democratic and human oriented country, US can not save all poor of the world. I would repeat myself, but it is country responsibility to fix problems and it is responsibility of citizen to fight for their rights against the government if it fails to do so. Look at the example of Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen and now Syria. They fight for their rights instead of running across the borders to rich GCC countries. What about US, as far I remember, they also fought for the independence from the British colonizers. Another example of French, German, Austrian, etc after the 2nd World War they faced hunger, poverty, etc. Did they run away from their countries? No. They built these countries from the ashes bringing them up to a top of the world. Reason is simple they are patriots.
And now a little bit about right for the better life. What gives preference or right to a better life to Mexican that crossed border illegally over the Mexican that stayed in Mexico. In my opinion both are equal, both have same miserable life conditions and both have right for a better life. It would be inconsequential to prefer one over another. I think idea with Green Card Lottery is quite good. By supporting illegal immigrants US state unfortunately promotes idea of illegal immigration as such. Kindly note that is a very objective opinion since I am not US citizen or permanent resident.
The burden these illegals cause is unbearable,especially now that our economy is in the tank. People are losing jobs,homes and even their self worth.
