Sheriff Joe Arpaio Lauches 20th ‘Crime Suppression Sweep’

Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio today launched his 20th “Crime Supression Sweep”, as his Posse members flooded the streets of southwest Phoenix.

The area has seen a big spike in illegal alien-driven crime, including the killing of a police officer, and the kidnapping of a female business owner by Mexican drug smugglers. And the Sweep has already reaped dividends:

The sweep began around 2:30 p.m. Thursday and during the first hour of the operation, deputies made 18 arrests, of which 11 are suspected illegal aliens. Some of the charges that suspects have been arrested for include possession and sale of marijuana, outstanding warrants, and forgery and identity theft.

The Sheriff scoffed at accusations of “racial profiling” during his raids:

I don’t know if they’re all illegal or half illegal. We don’t take census of who lives here. It doesn’t make any difference.

WTG Joe! The sweep will continue through October 7.

PLEASE CONSIDER A DONATION of $10.70 to Stand With Arizona in honor of SB1070, to help us continue to fight against illegal alien amnesty and push for Arizona-style enforcement laws nationwide: DONATE link. Thank you.

I went out on that detail tonight and will be out tomorrow night also. I don’t know if we “flooded the streets,” but there were quite a few Posse members out there. We rode with the Deputies, transported arrested individuals back to the Command Post, and provided security and booking assistance at the Command Post. The radio was buzzing with activity all evening, and the dispatcher was amazing. I don’t know how she kept all of the messages straight, but she did an awesome job. Someone got on the radio late in the evening and thanked her for all the good work she was doing.

One of the TV news organizations needs to post the raw video of the news conference this afternoon. The video you will see of Sheriff Arpaio shows him all serious, discussing crime suppression, which is fine for their purposes. But there was another part of the news conference where he was taking questions, and he was laughing and joking with all of the reporters and they were loving it. It was too long for a TV news “sound bite,” but it would make a great YouTube video. Just look at that Sheriff’s photo on mcso.org and you will see the real Joe Arpaio that we all know.

Tarantulas – Ask MSCO to have one of the posse take regular videos, and get it to us, and we can put it online, A lot of people would like to see that.

Thanks, John. I will see what I can do.
