The Sanctuary State: Jerry Brown Signs a Trio of Bills on Behalf of Illegal Aliens

It is hard to overstate the stunning embrace of lawlessness represented by three bills signed by California Governor Jerry Brown this past weekend. Brown on Saturday signed three bills that directly champion illegal aliens.  Together, they put the state so far on the side of illegals (and against legal taxpayers), that California now has no legitimate rival for the title of “The Sanctuary State, and should consider changing their official motto accordingly.

Facing a midnight deadline for sign several controversial bills, Brown avoided a public signing ceremony for these unpopular bills. He waited until the last day – on a holiday weekend – and then until the late afternoon when millions of households were watching college football, to sign the three bills.

The first bill, AB131 – The “California Dream Act, Part II”, provides a minimum of $40 million in grants and state-funded financial aid, grants and scholarships to illegal aliens, in addition to in-state tuition rates already provided. Illegal Community College students are eligible to attend fee-free. Former Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed similar bills in the past.  As a result of these bills, out of state students are recruited to pay for the extra debt incurred which means there are even fewer spots for California legal residents, and this at a time when state aid to legal students is being reduced.

As California wallows in record, staggering debt, AB131 increases debt spending for illegal alien students. And for what? As Assemblyman Tom Donnelly (R) has said, these students who graduate will never be able to work or pay taxes “because they are illegal.  The entire investment which is how they sell it is a poor use of resources.”  Perhaps that is next: California-issued work permits for illegals, in blatant violation of Federal law – with a lawless Barack Obama more than happy to look the other way.

The author of AB 131 is Gil Cedillo, a former MEChA member who has made a career of pimping legislation to make life easier for illegal aliens – whether increasing social services, or avoiding the hassles of police enforcing the laws they break. Cedillo is known for calling opponents of any such bills “racists”, and for exhorting his supporters to display the Mexican flag above the American one. This race-obsessed thug is what now passes for a statesman in Jerry Brown’s Sanctuary State.

The second bill, AB 1236, prohibits state agencies, local governments, and special districts from requiring an employer to use E-Verify, even when that employer is a contractor to the government. E-Verify is by far the most effective tool to keep jobs in the hands of legal Americans and weed out illegal aliens. So of course in The Sanctuary State, it had to go.

In California, which has the nation’s second highest rate of unemployment – 12%, it is sheer lunacy to make it easier for illegal aliens to take the jobs away from legal workers.  But the inmates are now running the asylum. And their arrogance  is evident in the title of the bill itself, the “Employment Acceleration Act“. The only things it will “accelerate” is the exodus of jobless American families out of California, and the rush of illegal aliens in. Would it surprise anyone to see illegal alien-only job training programs next?

The third bill Brown signed, also penned by Gil Cedillo,  was AB 353- which prevents illegal aliens driving without a license from having their cars impounded. This as the nation suffers from an epidemic of DUI killings at the hands of unlicensed, uninsured illegal aliens. Escondido began impounding the vehicles of unlicensed illegals after several such tragedies, and it was making a big difference. As Escondido Police Chief Jim Maher reminded, impounded vehicles are a consequence of breaking the law. “We are a rule-of-law city. The traffic-related crime statistics continue to fall by significant numbers in our city. These safety/sobriety checkpoints are working. It’s why the majority of residents aren’t complaining.”

Well, those statistics are about to go back up…way up. Because Jerry Brown has deleted Escondido’s ordinance with the stroke of his pen. As Ira Mehlman, of FAIR, said: In California, “it seems if there is a law that inconveniences illegal aliens, they are willing to change it.”

California is drowning in debt. It has the lowest credit rating of any state in the U.S. It’s debt payment per person is 250%  the national average.  Illegal aliens already cost the state a staggering $9 billion every year. Yet Jerry Brown is increasing debt spending on those same illegal aliens.  California’s unemployment rate is 12% – a full 3% above the national average, yet Jerry Brown is wiping out E-Verify, which will only increase that rate even futher, as emboldened illegal take even more jobs away from legal workers, with unethical businesses more than happy to oblige the slave labor class. And despite rampant DUI injuries and deaths at the hands of illegals, Jerry Brown is crippling efforts to imporve public safety, by keeping vehicles in the hands of illegals who drive without a license.

These policies are brazenly lawless, financially insane, and will drive the state further into debt and its taxpayers into economic misery. There is only one thing for California to do: RECALL JERRY BROWN. Please “Like” the Facebook page for this cause at this LINK.

And wondering when all the WORKING CLASS Oregonians (and Californians… if there are any left) … you know, the ones with BALLS enough to stand up and say ENOUGH of this crap!     I phoned Jerry Brown’s office multiple time to protest the Dream Act, apparently it does not matter what the people of California want. I was born and raised in California. What can I do to help get him impeached?

      Unfortunately it is you problem. A number of the people putting these people into office are not Californians. They are transplants from other States. The bigger problem is the foothold that these entities now have in the state. They will soon export their beliefs to your state and infect the body politic. Cali is loss until the federal government takes it over.

    I am ashamed to say I am in California. What Jerry Brown did amounts to total disrespect of the American, tax paying public. If you are not an illegal, you just got spit on by the Govenor of California. We should all get together and refuse to pay state taxes until all 3 of these bills are resended! The money we are paying is going straight to the illegal aliens and their anchor babies. We need to be like Alabama and get rid of them all, now they will be coming to California in droves and the public is at risk! How stupid can one man be? California is sinking in debt and the middle class can not poop out any more money for themselves after paying for welfare, section 8 and now illegals too!!! I will be calling his office first thing tomorrow morning just so I can vent! My wife became disabled and put on the list as least likely to recover but can’t get medical help, medicare, for 2 years! They told her if she divorces me and we sell our cars, then when the money runs out, she can get state help! But if she were an illegal, she could get food stamps, housing, medical and now college money too! If you are white in America these days, you are nothing. Working all your life, paying taxes and being in general a decent person, gets you nothing. You need to be illegal so that your rights don’t get stepped on. Absolutley disgusting!!! I am so sick about this I cannot even comment anymore. I can’t wait for his office to open tomorrow morning!!!

    There’s too much talk and not enough action. Does anyone know anyone legitimately trying to recall Jerry Brown. It is going to take millions of dollars. I believe some assembly man got the ball rolling to recall Gary Davis. How do we get the ball rolling now. I know Tim Donnelly is working on a referendum for AB 131, but how about the recall of Jerry Brown?

      First off, Illegal Immigrants should not be getting any assistance from our Governments…State or Federal. If you want money set aside to help pay for schooling, then it should go to Citizens and legal immigrants, period.
      Secondly, its very shortsighted of you to call people ignorant for wanting our government to look out for us, its citizens.
      And i hope you would agree, that it is outrageous for Governor Brown to sign in a tuition increase for residents of California while at the same time making it easier for people who are breaking the law to get assistance. Why cant these monies be used to help Californians?

    I was born and raised in San Diego and, until a couple years ago, swore I’d never leave. 2 months ago, I packed up my kids and left my husband there to finish up his Navy enlistment and moved 2000 miles away from everyone I’ve ever known and loved to a place I’d never been and don’t know anyone. I’ve been questioning whether I made the right decision…I see now that I absolutely did! For all of you who seem shocked and surprised by Brown’s actions, take a look at his very public (since he’s never really had a “real” job) record. This should come as no surprise. He damn near ruined the state the first time he was governor, what made anyone think this time would be any different?

    Jerry Brown seemed to start out as something good for California. But these three illegal alien bills he signed? He’s asking to have California taken over by the Mexican drug cartels.
