The Obama Administration has shown themselves to be a bunch of bullies. Obama’s Attorney General thinks nothing of bullying states like Texas and South Carolina – blocking their popular voter ID laws on phony “racism” claims. Obama himself recently even tried to bully the Supreme Court over his healthcare takeover, arrogantly ignoring 209 years of judicial precedent in a naked attempt to intimidate.
But they seem to have met their match in Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
The Administration, particularly the Justice Department and its Civil Rights Division, has declared total war on a man who is perhaps closest to a national icon of the fight against illegal immigration and amnesty as exists in America. They have investigated his office for 3 years. They have supported race-based class action lawsuits against him. They have even stripped him of 287(g) cooperation with DHS. All in an attempt to force him to capitulate, to back down, to give in to Federal takeover of his department in order to shut down his operations against illegal aliens.
Two words: EPIC FAIL. Arpaio is fighting harder than ever before, even in the face of what looks like imminent Federal lawsuit by the DOJ.
This guy has more backbone than anyone we’ve ever seen – this simply isn’t common among elected officials. There is no way he’s going to let Obama’s DOJ bully him around, especially when it is only about politics. He says if they want to take him to court, he’s more than willing to call their bluff and make them substantiate their allegations, something he says they’ve refused to do thus far and something he doesn’t think they want to do in court, since they simply don’t have the goods.

@ Brett Nehring. The Arizona law is NOT racist. If it walks like duck, quacks like a duck then it’s most likely a duck. Period. Political correctness is killing this country so we need to call it like it is.
I have a problem with “its MOST LIKELY a duck’. The way someone looks is a poor indicator and gauge citizenship status. There can be no room for error or mistake when it comes to infringing on an Americans right to roam about his country.Unimpeded by any other person or Federal Agency or Police force who has doubts of his citizenship while in public.If he is not commiting a crime he must not be impeded,questioned or detained reguardless of his looks or anyones undefined and unsubstanciated facts to have probabale cause to impede his goings about from city to city ,county to county or state to state, in as much right as another citizen has the right to ask you to produce to his satisfaction identification or documents to prove your citizenship at any time and in any place detaining you and impeding your progress of where you were headed so that he could feel safe about your presence in public with him.
Now thats not to say that i dont believe that everyone should carry identification with them or try to at all time in public, but to give undue and powers to police to create checkpoints and be asked to show their papers as an American is just so UN American,and so inhuman that it reecks of communism,Facism and Raceism. For us as American citizens to give the power and authority to all forces in place to stop arrest question an detain me as I am out and about my own home land, and furthermore to arrest me and hold me for 72hrs of my life that I dont get back on an officers whim that Idont look American enough or that I should dress more like an A merican so that Idont get hasseled so much is so ubsurrd.YET Americans are being treated this way in the name of finding an illegal mexican witchunt that is so pervasive around the close to the mexican border states. Frankly Isee it occuring in every state. T he fear of Mexicans coming in and taking away American Jobs is ludicris. It takes an UNLAWABIDING American to give an illegal alien a job.ITtakes Americans to hire illegals. Therefore if Americans themselves are the ones promoting all this illegal immigration by hiring and Abusing Mexicans by usurping A MERICAN rights and by consenting that only American workers should recieve an American’s paycheck are not AMERICANS themselves the true root cause for this double whammy of humaan rights violations. WEmust be tolorant of others even if they dont look or act as we ‘normal’ folk.What is normal and who defines it.Now if you want to force every man woman and child to be given an identification number so that when produce it would be prima faci evidence to good joe or whoever to immediatly return my document and with out further delay let me go on and about my business,without a single other question asked again well social security did that, but what good is a card without a picture of the person,a drivers license could work but all dont drive.Soon we should have the technology to collect a DNA sample from every man woman and child and based on their dnaprofile attribute a number to everry one so that they can be identified wthou being detained but with a type of radar detecting gun anyone can be identified by just pointing aat the subject and tada, everything you want or need to know about him will be fransferd to your display screen. I stajd with the laws of Arizona, if all the illegal immigrants from all nations were deported America would be a cleaner, safer place to live. If they want to be a U.S. Citizen, let them go through the due process and become lega. They are taking away jobs that true Americans could have and it would decrease our unemployment drastically.
