If the Obama Administration thought that the Supreme Court decision overturning some provisions of SB 1070, and ICE terminating cooperation with Arizona would stop Sheriff Joe from doing his job, they should think again.
Maricopa County Sheriff Arpaio told Neil Cavuto on FOX News today:
“I’m not stopping anything. I’m going to continue to enforce those state laws regardless of what the federal government is trying to put pressure on me to satisfy all these activists, which by the way are in front of my building right now.”
“Three and half years they’ve been in front of my building. So, I’m not going to bend to the federal government, especially when we still have state laws to enforce.”
Arpaio said he has other state laws to enforce, such as human smuggling, identity theft, and his famous crime suppression sweeps – which do not run afoul of the Court and which Obama cannot stop, and will not stop his efforts to crack down on illegal aliens.
Exit question: How refreshing is it to hear Sheriff Joe’s plain speaking and unwavering determination after a day of double-talk and uncertainty?

For the first time in my life Joe… I can’t agree with you. If it was just DOJ, just holder, just Obama. I’d be there 100%. But SCOTUS declared it unconstitutional. Thats the end game. Bam it stops. Re-write the law, enforce the HELL out of the part that was not stricken down. Joe, we already have enough Law Enforcement Leaders ignore the constitution when it comes to the Second Amendment. Robert – I think you’d better watch the interview. Joe is planning to follow the law – state law, as well as the upheld Section 2b. He is not ignoring the Constitution, even if Anthony Kennedy and Obama cynically are.
